Clearing the rooms under the Glass Factory

Rovagug 10, 4708 - Shalelu Andosana said her good bye to us and told her son to watch over us. She also told me she will check on the Dwarven City to the north and report back to me when she can how the attack was going. I spent my time helping my uncle. I was not that good with stone and I seem worse with wood. But, I still enjoy the time working with my uncle.

Rovagug 13, 4708 – Sheriff Belor had returned and a meeting with the mayor and merchant council. We where summoned to this meeting as eye witness to the events when the sheriff was away. We got there just to hear Ameiko in a rage blaming Belor for everything that happened in his absence. Saying the guards killed the goblins and Tutso on their own in the jail without them being brought to trial first. He has no discipline with his guards and that he should be replaced and Lyk should be appointed in his place. Lyk spoke up for his uncle defense and also said he did not want the job. The major then spoke up and said it was her job to remove the sheriff and she was not going to remove Sheriff Belor. She told Belor he must be more in control of his charge and they will be watching what he does from now on.

With the Sheriff now in charge and only getting three guards to help boost his guards to protect Sandpoint he was going with us to clear out any threat in the glass factory. We entered the Glass factory with the Sheriff in the lead. Andrain had suggested we leave the guards behind but the Sheriff had nothing to do with that. The Sheriff did agree that they stay in the back for support. We went in and found another one of those red demons in the factory which we killed very quickly. We then went down into the smuggler caves to finish clearing them out.

We only came upon empty rooms. We found a torture room which was so rotten I was able to swing my maul and turn them to dust. We then found an office with many books and I found a ritual scroll. Riley wanted the books but most just turn to dust as we pick them up. We did find 16 books that could be read. Riley created a floating disc to carry the books for him. We moved on searching the rest of the place. We found another strange room with objects floating around in it. Riley created a spiritual hand to go into the room and pulled out a wand and other object. There was a dead raven floating in there with maggots all over it very strange. How would a raven get into that room, someone had to put it there and it has not been there very long maybe two weeks. We found out later that we believe it was food for the Imp.

We came to the last area a set of double doors with Sheriff Belor in the lead we entered the room. We seemed to surprise a Mutated Goblin named Koruvus and an Imp Erylium. We were able to get a few attacks on Koruvus first most with missle attack and Lyk running up to him. Then the Imp disappeared. When Sherriff Belor ran up to help Lyk the Imp reappeared attacking the Sheriff. Before I could get there to assist the Sheriff he had already killed the Imp. Then we dispatched Koruvus quickly. We found a strange alter with a strange liquid in it. It looks to be a summoning pool to bring forth those red demons and I must figure a way to destroy it.

As we search the place it occurred to me this is where Nualla came by accident or maybe someone brought her here. Maybe it was Lord Longiko Kaijitsu he was being blackmail from probably Naulla just a thought. He found the room with the alter and summon the Imp who controlled him or Koruvus was there and spared his life for service to him. It is here she became to worship demons. I feel that the Imp and may be Koruvus had something to do with her training. My thought is her father found out about her worshipping demons and she killed him with help or not. Then set fire to the Temple to cover her tracks. She then came here and this is where she learned her powers in the demon ways and probably her transmutation took place here as well. We will never know all the pieces of this saga to know what really happen. I should find out if this area lead to the temple or not. There where stairs we believe they block each other but maybe not. I need to destroy that alter so it can never summon demons again.

The Demise of Nualla - The Birth of Malfeshnakor

Rovagug 9, 4708 – I pick up Daviren so we would be sure to have him with us. I thought he would be thankful but he said he is still watching me. The savior of Sandpoint set out for Skull Island again by boat. We had Daviren, Carufinwe and his mother Shalelu, Riley, Lyk, Andrian and my self in the boats not knowing what to expect when we arrived. No one did much talking on the ride there because we all knew this could be our last battle for all or for some of us. Any chance for surprise is over they will be ready for us this time. We reached the island and somehow Andrian noticed a goblin near the cave entrance telling us they have guards posted for us, it has begun.

We had the boats come around not in line with the cave entrance. Lyk climb up first to meet the goblins alone. He was able to kill two as one ran away to warn the other of our return. We all climb up the rope with out being attacked. We noticed that the great centipede Lyk killed when we where last here was being cut up for food. Andrian wanted Lyk to push it over but I told him we would need it for our descent back into the boats. We set up a marching order to go to the temple. As we started to go forth Andrian said he is going to check out the way we did not go the last time to be sure we would not be surrounded. That was a good idea but it all went bad from there.

An alarm went up just as he started down the tunnel and it seemed but not sure when Andrian opened the door about 50 feet away from the hallway. We were being attacked by the goblins from the front and back. I was able to cast a protect spell on the whole group when Andrian came back with a bugbear (Bruthalzmus who Shalelu has fought many times) on his heals to protect us from being hit as easy. Lyk went from the front lines, leaving Daviren and myself to defend the front, to the back to fight Bruthalzmus the bugbear. It was close but Lyk was able to cut his head off. Daviren was holding the front so I moved back to support Lyk. Then the goblins broke thru the wall to our right causing them to have a third position to attack us in this hallway splitting the party in half. We were trap fighting for our lives with Lyk, Andrian and myself on one side and Daviren, Carufinwe, Shalelu and Riley on the other.

Riley had created some kind of hell fire to keep the goblins in the back helping us and I was able to heal Andrian and Lyk from the wounds by the bugbear. The goblins were the young ones and not that good at fighting. We were able to cut them down without taking much damage our selves. Just as we where looking to win this battle the Temple doors open up and Nualla was there with a new force of goblins ready for battle. Our lines was spread out and we thought Riley was protected but when the doors open up he was in line of the new threat and was shot at by many arrows but only a one landed home some how.Daviren was able to create a gauntlet to kill the goblins as they tried to get to Riley only a few made it. I was able to do the same in the back, too.

But as it was looking better for us, Nualla got into the battle finally. Rilley was able to roll his ball of fire to protect him better that let Daviren alone to face Nualla. Daviren did not seem to have a chance Lyk tried to get there in time but just as he arrived Nualla had killed Daviren. But Lyk was able to hurt Nualla without taking much damage causing her to run. Lyk Carufinwe and Shalelu ran after her first with Andrian following after he killed a few more goblins to have a clear path. Riley and I mopped up the rest with about seven surrendering to us. I told them they could leave by the way of the cave. I thought I saw Riley thinking about killing them with one of his spells but I’m proud that this time he just let them go and ran after the party instead. I went to Daviren but he was past my ability. I moved Daviren body to the entrance of the cave before I chased after the rest.

I was lucky that it was an easy path to follow but just as I arrived at the stairs they where all running back up because just before Nualla had died she was able to summons a demon named Malfeshnakor. So, we all ran back to the cave entrance and summon the boats to leave.

We had the boats take us to the shore line to talk about what we should do next. It got a little heated with the Fighter called Orik Vancasterkin and a female Wizard called Lyrie who left with us. Andrian and Lyk seem to be saying to them they must lead us back up to fight the demon Malfeshnakor since they help to release it. They refused saying it would be suicidal to try and kill it. It is to strong for them to bring down. It was going to come to blows when I step in to resolve the argument. Telling Andrian and Lyk that I do not believe we can kill the demon neither and we must report this to others first. Then I had to promise to the Orik and Lyrie on my word to Torag that I would let them go after they told us everything they knew about the demon Malfeshnakor. Not sure the rest of my party was with me except Riley who got to look at Lyrie ritual books seemed happy. I hope he is wise and did not take any demon summoning spells. Lyrie told us what she knew. Naulla did not summon the demon she freed it from a prison it be bound in for many years. Lyrie was trying to control the demon along with Naulla with no success in the bound prison. Lyrie told us that it is raised from a dead fire elemental merged with a demon some how. Lyrie believes my powers should be able to hurt it, but she is not positive if it will or not.

While Riley was getting ritual from Lyrie book, Andrain searched the rest of Nualla body and then we piled up wood and burn her body to ashes. Orik talk to me more about Torag and I tried to convince him to accept Torag teaching and turn from his evil ways. Not sure he will or not. Orik is going to tell his father Saul Vancasterkin that we saved him. Orik told us if we are ever in Riddleport to come to the Gold Goblin Inn and tell his father Saul who we are and what we did for Orik. When Riley was all done we left the Orik and Lyrie on the beach and sailed back to Sandpoint.

On the way back to Sandpoint Lyk told me that when they chase Nualla she made it to another room filled with goblins and two humans. When Lyk started to cut his way thru the room and Lyrie cast a spell at him and the elves but it did nothing to them. Orik decided to surrender to them looking at Lyk. Once he did he started killing the goblins, too. Lyrie surrender, but did not fight any more. Then they heard Nualla returning all burned up saying she did it and then she died. All the goblins stopped fighting and bow down to worship and other came in saying something like Malfeshnakor name and bow down to it. Andrian went to Nualla with Lyk and then saw the demon burning the goblins worshipping it. They took Nualla weapon and body up to the cave entrance where Andrian took her armor, weapon and some other items off from her.

We arrived back and I took Daviren body to the chapel. The others went to the mayor to tell her about the Demon Malfeshnakor on Skull Island. From that meeting it was decided not to bring attention to the island they would not tell anyone else what is on the island. She will have guards sent once a week to see if anyone is trying to build a bridge to the island again and if we found someone strong enough to destroy the demon we will go back to do that. But at this time it seems to be trapped on the island.

Daviren had no family and I did the gentle repose ritual on his body and with the money Andrian took from Nualla we had him buried. We where given his business as an award for stopping the threat of Sandpoint destruction. I removed the goblin ears from his business walls and put them in the coffin with him to honor him for all the goblins he had killed and the help he gave us. We are now the owners of the Goblin Squash Stables.

Andrain wanted to finish searching the glass factory but it was boarded up because they saw something moving around in there. They would not let us in until Sheriff Belor returned from his recruiting trip. We now had a few days of rest.
