News of Radruundar

When we return back to our room Carufinwe was given a note which was from his mother Shalelu. Carufinwe told me that his mother has found the lost Kingdom or Radruundar. It is in the Fogscar Mountain range. It is south of the Spire of Leniriss but far enough east and north that the Churlwood is still visible from its slopes. It seems that a fair size battle between the dwarves of Janderhoff and the goblins near the causeway and gate took place. The dwarves of Janderhoff seem to have fought there way into Radruundar. The goblins in the Churlwood and Fogscar area are on the march to Radruundar with a large army to retake Radruundar. There is many goblins outside the gate closing the exit to leave Radruundar without another large battle. Shalelu does not know how many dwarves of Janderhoff are inside or what their situation is for a long seize. Shalelu did capture a goblin and was able to persuade him to tell her what he knew. It seems the goblins are convinced that one of their ancient overlords has risen from the dead and is commanding them to battle for the conquest to “return Varisia to its rightful owners”. At this time she fear any attempt to enter Radruundar would be near suicide. The dwarves of Janderhoff may have already been killed and Radruundar is back under Goblin control. I do not know what I will do even though my heart is to go and see if I can find out the fate of the dwarves of Janderhoff in Radruundar. Shalelu has also given me this scroll written in dwarven runes which I have copied down in both Jounrals. The scroll said:
In Radruundar does lrontooth lay,
The Fierce Axe upon his breast.

Letter to my father:
Father, Kuthona 6, 4708
It has been a few months since my letter from Sandpoint. I have gotten into a few situations as my journal will explain. At the moment I am fine and doing well. But I have received news about the ancient city of Radruundar a group of dwarf have battle their way into Radruundar and are trapped by goblins outside. It is in the Fogscar Mountain range. It is south of the Spire of Leniriss but far enough east and then north that the Churlwood is still visible from its slopes. The Elf Shalelu, Carufinwe mother, captured a goblin and was able to persuade him to tell her what he knew. It seems the goblins are convinced that one of their ancient overlords has risen from the dead and is commanding them to battle for the conquest to “return Varisia to its rightful owners”. I feel they are looking for something they believe is somewhere in Radruundar. Shalelu also gave me the scroll which I’m forwording along to you with my journal. This may make more sense to you or others that know more about Radruundar. I will try and get more information about the ancient city of Radruundar. I would like to go to Radruundar but can do nothing for them there at this time. I also feel this item we are looking for is also involved. Just do not know how. When I have more information I will send it out to you as soon as I can.

The Hunt for the King murder & Is Andrian in Line?

Neth 29, 4708 – We did not do much this day. I stay back to pray to Torag. For some reason Andrian wanted to have his portrait done. He went to Field Marshall Cressida Kroft and asked her if she knew any artists. The only one that the Field Marshall knew of was the artist Trinia Sabor who was painting the King portrait. Andrian went out to look for her. He found Trinia Sabor apartment which had been ransacked. Andrian continued to look for leads but still could not locate her. He returned back to the barrack with no luck in finding her.

Kuthona 1, 4708 – Andrian went back out to locate Trinia Sabor. He came back later that day still no closer finding her where about.

Kuthona 2, 4708 – Andrian left to locate Trinia Sabor again. A few hours after he left Field Marshall Cressida Kroft asked for us to report to her office. We went out to look for Andrian and were able to find him quickly. As we headed back to Field Marshall office Andrian told us that he believes he knows were Trinia Sabor’s is hiding out.

When we got to see Field Marshall Cressida Kroft she told us that evidence has been brought forward that the King was murdered just as we had predicted. Field Marshall was asking us to bring in Trinia Sabor because she is the prime suspect in the murder. She has two people who have information pointing at Trinia for the murder of the King. We asked the Field Marshall what was the information and she told us. One was just a few weeks ago were it was over heard that she said she would kill the King if he touch her again. The second was that they saw and heard her say leaving the King that she did not mean to kill him as she ran away. Andrian told her he has not found her yet but has a few good leads to her where about. Andrian takes us back to almost the place we found him to begin with. Just as we get to the door we heard a sound of something breaking and as we entered we see a boy going out a window up to the roof, this was Trinia. Andrian, Carufinwe and Riley all gave chase. But, being in plate mail I try to follow them on the ground instead. I lost them at times on the ground but my constant looking up was causing other to look up they could see the chase on the roof tops, too.

This cause a mob to form because they have heard that Trinia was the one who killed the king and they all wanted to have her hung. As my friends were chasing Trinia on the roof I was trying to slow the mob down by looking and going the wrong way. I found out later that Riley was able to cast his sleep spell on her before she got away. She was hard to follow and it did take all three of them to not lose her on the roof tops. The other three decided not to take her to Field Marshall because they believe she would be hung and we would never find out who did murder the King. They where trying to lose the mob but could not decided were to hide her. They decide to take her to Vencarlo because Andrain believes he is the legendary Blackjack and would help them. On the way to Vencarlo they meet up with the Blackjack who demanded they release Trinia to him and to put down their weapons. Blackjack attempted to slap Andrian with his blade but was surprised that Andrian was able to block his attempt. They told Blackjack that they are trying to hide Trinia and were not going to take her to the Field Marshall. Trinia told Blackjack that they have been trying to help hide her from the mob and was going to take her to Vencarlo for hiding. Blackjack leads them all into Vencarlo fencing school and told them to wait and he will fetch Vencarlo for them. Once Vencarlo appears he does offer to hide Trinia in his secret rooms. I meet back up with the others outside of Field Marshall Cressida Kroft office. We went in to tell the Field Marshall that Trinia was able to escape us by running on the roof tops. Field Marshall understood and dismissed us. The rest of the day the guards begin a house to house search for Trinia Sabor.

Kuthona 3, 4708 – The guards continue the house to house search for Trinia. Later that afternoon a trial for Trinia Sabor is done in her absent. We asked how can they do that and we are told that they want to bring the King murder to a close because they know who did it. The first witness was who had heard her say if the King touched her again she would kill him and the second witness was who saw and heard her say she did not mean to kill him as she ran from the king room where his body was. With those two story the crowd wanted her hung. They put out an order when Trinia Sabor was found she was to be put to death for the murder of King Eodred Arabashi II.

After this was done Queen Ileosa spoke to the crowd and told them that she was with child with the rightful heir to the Crimson Throne. This did not sit well with us because why did she not say she was with child with King Eodred Arabashi II child. I along with many other had cast the detect lie ritual prayer and we did not detect her not telling us the truth. She also stated she would only take the name of “Queen Regent” instead of Queen to satisfy the people who do not wish a foreigner to be their ruler. The crowd was satisfied with what the “Queen Regent” had said and it looks like very thing is going to go back to normal. But, we are still confused as to what truly is going on.

Kuthona 4, 4708 – The city was getting back to business as usual. We were able to do some shopping. I wanted to get some materials to be able to cast some of the prayer rituals I have. I also have decided to send my journal to my father to let him know what I have been doing since I’m not in Sandpoint and not sure when I’m going to return home.

Kuthona 5, 4708 – We were summoned by Field Marshall Cressida Kroft because the “Queen Regent” wanted to reward us for our services during the riots. She gave us the reward of a magical horn to call upon our allies at time of need. She also knighted Andrian to be the new Captain of the Night Watch only because he is the only human in our little group and he does most of the talking. She did make us all Sergeant of Arms of the Night Watch. We are now part of the Korvosan Guard and can give orders to any guard below the rank of captain from sunset to sunrise. I have no problem with Andrian being our leader he is a better talker than me. Also, there are times he must lie and I’m not sure I could.

Kuthona 6, 4708 – We received a summons from Devargo Barvasi of the Eel’s End. He claimed to have been visited by two friends of ours. When we arrived he treated us with open arms and told us that Xanesha has asked him many questions about us. She paid him well and just thought we should know. He also told us that he had the head of Gaedren Lamm animated by a necromancer named Ralth who lost all of his stuff and was in need of money. Devargo always wanted to have an animated head and since we gave him Gaedren head and was able to make a deal with the necromancer Ralth to animate it, he did. To his surprise Gaedren Lamm was happy to be brought back and had a story he wanted to tell Andrian. He told us this story of Yara Porpheria who is the older half brother of King Chadris Porpheria. He was a man that loved the young ladies and used Gaedren Lumm to supply him. Well for some reason one of the ladies he liked and had around for many years when all of a sudden she ran off. Yara paid Gaedren to find her and bring her hack to him which Gaedren agreed. But, when he did find her she was with child and Gaedren wanted to make more money so he did not tell Yara he found her yet. Gaedren waited until she had the child than came for the girl who was staying with her grandmother. Gaedren told her grandmother to take the child and say nothing else they would both be dead. He took the girl back to Yara Porpheria. Gaedren saw the girl around for a year or two before he stop seeing her. Never did know what happen to her. He watched over the child until it was time to add him to his little lambs. The point to his story was that Andrian was that child. Andrian you have a legitmate claim to the Crimson Throne! From this Devargo wanted Andrian to give him a 100 gold to be quite for a time. When Andrain did not agree he raise it a couple of times before Andrian told he could tell who ever we wanted to tell. With that we left Devargo place. I told Andrian that he should go and denounce the throne now before the word got out and people wanted his head or for him to take the throne.

The end of "All the World Meats"

Neth 26, 4708 – Another night of rioting and another day the Hell Knight bring order to the city with more killings. I prayed most of the day asking Torag for forgiveness, strength and wisdom. Riley was study those evil books and I was glad that some of them where destroyed in the fire at Andrian grandmother house. Andrian and Carufinwe went out to see what going on and if they could pick up some more information. Andrian hear rumors of people missing and decided to watch the “All the World’s Meats”. After a time of hiding out he noticed a leg sticking out of a tarp as the Cowhammer Boys brought in a body into the house of “All the World’s Meat”. Andrian came back and told us. Riley and Carufinwe thought it was a job for the guards or Hell Knights. This just made me upset that they would pass this to people as good pork. This is wrong even though people may go hungry because we will close the place down. So, Andrian, Toka and my self waited until after sunset to go to the house of All the World’s Meats for a visit.

When we got there Andrian check the building out and noticed that the Cowhammer Boys had gone home and only the four guardsmen were left. We broke in on them and I told them to stop what they are doing and surrender to us for this vile crime they are doing. Andrian was glad that they said they would rather die fighting us then go to the hangman rope. Andrian was able to throw his dagger at the closest one before they charged us and they could only get two on us because we did not enter the room so the other two went to get behind us. I was able to kill the one Andrian hit leaving us with only three to fight now. Andrian always does the strangest things but it worked. He left the safety of the door and entered the room to attack one from behind that was going to try and get behind us. He was able to hurt him but they then turn on him and get a hit on Andrian. Toka and I fought with the one at the door hurting him when one of them shouted to get the one mask for he is the leader. Andrian and I got hit on that attack still leaving three to attack us and they looked like they where going to take Andrian down. But once again Andrian quickness seemed to make them miss or not get hurt as bad as he should with those spears. Toka and I were able to kill the other guardsman at the door and I was able to heal Andrian with my healing strike on that attack. Now it was even and not looking good for the guardsman and I ask again for them to surrender and they said no. Andrian killed the third and the last one wanted to kill Andrian but he ganged up on him instead killing the last one before he could hurt anyone again.

As we looked around the room we could see the horror of their evil work. Butchering the body just like they are the animals we would eat. It is sad when people act like animals themselves. Andrian wanted to search the place out but I wanted to burn the place down we did not communicate our thoughts to each other. I should of know that Andrian wanted treasure but I just wanted to destroy this place so it could never be used or the meat already made would be destroyed. Without thinking that it could burn more than this place Torag was looking out for me as it started to rain. I do not believe Andrian found anything but the two dire boars which were burned up with the rest of the place. The rain kept the fire from spreading and only this building was burned to the ground.

We told the Cowhammer boys we will be watching them and do not want to hear any more missing person reports or we will be coming for them next. This place is closed and you do not even have the dire boars to get rid of the bones and parts of the body you do not use. Then we went back to Field Marshall Cressida Kroft and told her what we found out and what he did. She just said that was fine and I will contact you when I need you.

Neth 27, 4708 – Andrian and I came back to tell the others what we did and took a nap. When we got up we talk about some of the others things Andrian and Carufinwe heard. We also got talking about Xanesha and her Doppelganger. Carufinwe was able to tell us a little more about doppelganger being able to look like anyone they have seen. By what we have pick up we decided that one or two doppelganger are following us around to keep Xanesha informed of what we are doing. We decided to see if we could get the doppelganger to follow us outside the city where maybe we could attack and kill them. Andrian wanted to tell Field Marshall Cressida Kroft our plan and I agree. It sounded crazy when Andrian told her and I do not think we should of told her. We got her permission to leave the city. Before the gates closed for the night we left the city to see if we could get the doppelganger to follow us. He found a place to camp for the night.

Neth 28, 4708 - We set up an ambush for the doppelganger. A few hours later a small group of the Cowhammer Boys came up to us and ask for Andrian. Andrian did not say it was him right away until the Cowhammer Boys started to leave without giving him the message. Once Andrian said it was him the Cowhammer Boys gave him the note. It just said “nice try”. Andrian asked who gave them the note and they said a small girl who gave them a gold piece and would give them another gold piece when they delivered it. We decided to go back and not have to worry who following us because we could never truly identify a doppelganger if they changed their face. The cloths would be our only piece but most comers wear the same type of cloths.

Rioting in Korvosa

Neth 21, 2708 - Late at night
The city was going crazy with people getting loud and destructive this first night of the King death. I heard along with Andrian that there was a fight out side our house. I did not have time to put on my armor. Andrian told me to back him up as he was going to try and sneak around them and knock one of them out to scare them off. I just wanted to yell at them to stop. It went bad as Andrian was able to scare them off by knocking one out. But, it turn out he killed the one he was trying to knock out instead. I could not save him but was able to stop the bleeding of the noble that was getting beaten up. We took both the noble and the dead attacker to the Field Marshall Cressida Kroft. Andrian did not want me to heal the nobleman up. So, we could show how bad he was beaten up. There been more death by the guards trying to break up the fights, too. When we got to see the Field Marshall she understood and thank us for helping just that we need to try harder not to kill the city folks that are getting out of control. She just told us to be careful when trying to break up fights. We went back to the house and Andrian and Carufinwe decided to go out and find out what the fuse is all about. Riley and myself tried to go back to sleep. I did get some sleep that night.

Neth 22, 4708 - Andrian and Carufinwe came back just before dawn and reported that most of the upraising is all about. It is that they do not want Queen Ileosa to take over the city as their new ruler. They feel she is a power/money seeker and Korvosa will not do well with her in power. The ones standing up for the Queen are the ones getting attacked. We then went and reported this information to Field Marshall Cressida Kroft who was thankful for the information. She also told us that we are under marshal law and the gates of the city are locked. No one is to come in or go out until the rioting stops. Andrian and Carufinwe need to get some rest. So, Riley and I decided to patrol the streets to see if we could keep our little area under control. That is easier said then done. That afternoon I was stopped by the flying guards. They wanted me off the streets because I was caring a weapon. But, once I told them who I was and show them the badge Field Marshall Cressida Kroft gave us they left us alone. Then we came upon a mod of about ten city folks. There was no reasoning with them. They wanted us non human to leave their city they did not want our help. They had no answer to our questions. They just threw their waste at me wanting to get me mad. It is easier to be humiliated then to kill innocent folks. I stood my ground until they started to throw rocks at me. I was not sure what I would do when I started to run at them yell and screaming they should go home. Riley had cast his sleep spell I found out later is why over half of them fell to the ground. The others yell out demons and they ran away. When I check them out to see if they were hurt I found out they where just sleeping. Once I woke them up they ran away. A few hours later the same mob came back with more and torches. They where yelling they where going to burn us out when they ran past me. Riley was able to wake Andrian and Carufinwe to get out of the house just as the mob was throwing the torches When I got there the house was on fire and I did not see my friends so I ran into the burning house to find them and get my stuff. I saw them just leaving and Andrian saw me and told me he had my stuff, too. We help with trying to put the fire out so it would not burn the rest of city. I have no skill in talking with a mod some day it will probably be my death because I may not kill them to live. We then went to Field Marshall Cressida Kroft and told her what happen and ask to stay in the guard barracks, she agreed. We heard the city crier announcing martial law and the Hell Knights were being brought in to restore the order.

Neth 23, 4708 – The rioting is still going on with many being killed for a no good reason. But all reason is gone from this city and I fear more will die before it is over. I continue to pray for guidance to see what I need to do. I took the time to go over and clean all my equipment and supplies. I talk with the guards but none where interested in hearing the words of Torag. Late that night we heard the Hell Knights have arrived at the gates. But, they would not be allowed to enter until morning.

Neth 24, 4708 – The Hell Knights are let into the city to restore order. We are hearing reports they do not worry about killing anyone you stands up to them armed or unarmed. But, they are doing what they are here to do restore order. It got a little better because when the mods came across the Hell Knights most of them just ran the foolish ones just died. When nightfall came the Hell Knights left the city to rest. This gave the mods the freedom of the streets again. The madness just continues on.

Field Marshall Cressida Kroft calls us to her office. She tells us about a Korvosan Guard Captain Verik Vancaskerkin who has left his post because he could not bring himself to kill innocent people to restore order. She has found out he has taken over a butcher shop known as “All the World’s Meats”. Captain Verik is treating that corner of the city as his own territory. Field Marshall Cressida Kroft is asking us to bring Captain Verik to her alive. She does not want us to kill anyone to bring him in. We should be able to reason with him because he is a Korvosan Guad who just wants to do what is right. We left the Field Marshall to rest for the night.

Neth 25, 4708 – We headed off early in the morning to find Captain Verik. On the way we came across an old man who called himself a prophet of Pharasma. Once he made contact with me he came rushing up to me telling every one that I’m the “Chosen One”. He told me he had a dream that show him that I was the “Chosen One” for Pharasma. He said he has to go with me because Pharasma told him he must. I told him I only follow Torag and do not follow Pharasma. If he was to be with me than he must follow Torag and to my surprise he told me since I’m the “Chosen One” he would now be a prophet of Torag.

We just started to leave with our new companion when two Otyughs escape from the sewers. We had to attack these two monsters before they started killing the people of Korvosa. It was a challenge to fighting two at once because of their size. The Otyughs were going to split the party but Riley was able to stop one of them for a moment so we could attack the one closest to use. We hurt the closest one but it still came after us and I put myself between us and the second Otyugh. The Otyugh got ahold of Andrian but we easy got out of it grasp before it could put him in it mouth. Just as Andrian got lose the second one got a hold of me. I was able to stand my ground a little and not be pulled into it mouths. The prophet who just joined us saw that the Otyugh had a hold of his chosen one and thru himself into the mouth of the Otyugh to save me. Just as he did this we killed the first Otyugh and then quickly killing the second one. The Otyugh had bitten the prophet in half and there was no way to save him. It seemed like a foolish act but maybe he did save my life even though I did not feel I was in any danger. I was sad for him but it looked to me that he had a peaceful look that he did safe the chosen one in his mind.

We continue on to the World of Meats and knock on the door. A Guard from within ask what we wanted. We told him we wanted to talk to Captain Verik. They told us to go away or they would force us to leave. Andrian told them that if we leave the Hell Knights will be sent and they will not care if they kill everyone or not. The Guards said they where not afraid of the Hell Knights but they would get Verik. After a few moments we heard some noises from the back room like they where getting ready for trouble. Then Captain Verik came out to talk to us. Andrian did all the talking because he is very good at it. Captain Verik was not afraid of the Hell Knights and told his men that if any one wanted to leave they could with no problem. A few of his men did leave out the back door. But as we talk to Captain Verik we had a connection with him because he had saved his brother Orik life a couple of times. Andrian and Riley used this to our advantage. We knew him even thou Orik never told us the story why he left Riddleport. We knew enough information about his brother Orik that he trusted us. With this we were able to convince Captain Verik to turn himself in. We had to swear to travel to Riddleport and give news to his father about Verik and Orik. We all did swear to do this and once we did were able, too. We brought Captain Verik to Field Marshall Cressida Kroft. Captain Verik men also came with us to be sure we were taking Verik to see the Field Marshall. Once we went in side Captain Verik men headed back to the store.

We brought Captain Verik to Field Marshall Cressida Kroft. Andrian told the Field Marshall that Verik came peaceful and seemed to do a good job of keeping their area peaceful. Andrian also ask if Field Marshall Cressida Kroft should make that place a guard outpost to keep the peace and to also know what going on in that area. Plus, it shows she is still in control. Since they had a few of the guards with Verik that they could be over and have the assistance of the Cowhammer Boys to continue what they are doing but it is under your control. The Field Marshal like that idea and agreed to make the “All the World’s Meats” store a guard outpost for keeping the peace in that area. Field Marshall next duty was to punish Captain Verik they both agreed it needs to be done to show obedient and authority. It was done and Captain Verik will be punished but also given back his position after the time been served. When we left the Field Marshall we went to catch up with the Cowhammer Boys to tell them that they will be made a guard outpost run by the 4 remaining guards. They will need to report back to Field Marshall their activities and how it is going but they can continue to help the people in the area as long as they can keep the area under control. They were happy to hear this good news.

As the Hell Knights were going back to their camp for the night the riots seem to be picking up again. To me it seems the people are happy to go back to their homes and sleep during the day to roit at night. I only see more death and destructions.
