Search and Trap of Trifacia

Gozran 26th, 4709 - We sent Ducw, Shaleu, Andrian and Loari to look around in a certain area we thought Trifacia might go next. They were looking for a large crowd and they did a little asking around, too. We sent those three because they are not wanted yet in Korvosa. Andrian knows the area and can get out of trouble, if identified. They came back with no luck finding him. We talked more how we could call him out and we decide we need something to draw a crowd to one store. Andrian remembered the perfume store we shut down during the plague. He thought maybe Vendra would help us if she is still in business. We set up a plan and they will put it in action tomorrow.

Gozran 27th, 4709 – The same group went out again and contact Vendra and I gave 5PP for Andrian to give her for her loses in the sale. She agreed to do the big sale and would start to get the word out for the big perfume sale on the 28th. They help Vendra creating signs and help spread the news about the big sale at the Vendra Perfume Store. We will now wait for tomorrow and see if Trifaccia will make his appearance in our trap for him.

Gozran 28th, 4709 – I stay behind along with Rizzle, Trinia and Cressida. Vencarlo told me the story of the trap and capture of Trifaccia. The trap was set and the crowd began together. Ducw, Shaleu, Loari and Vencarlo were in the crowd watching to see if the thugs would show up. Just before the sale was about to begin the thugs did show up and went to the door of the store. They bang on the door and window until Vendra came out to talk to them. She started to tell them she was not ready for the sale and they told her they were not here for the sale but to tell her they are here to protect her from damages. She needed to pay them for the protection else she would have trouble. She was telling them she could not afford to pay them what they were asking. They told her if she did not pay it would go up along with a broken window. Just before they were going to break her window Trifaccia show up jumping and doing a flip off the roof of her store and told the thugs to leave her be that Trifaccia was hear to protect her. Then the fake fight between the thugs and Trifaccia began. Black Jack appeared and yelling for Korvosa attention. This stopped the fake fight and Black Jack told the crowd they should not be so easy take in by this fake savior of Korvosa. That he was away and now is back. Trifaccia said that he is now Korvosa savior and struck Black Jack in the shoulder with his blade. Then all of a sudden two daggers came out of no where into Black Jack hands and he was able to cause multiple wounds to Trifaccia but he would not surrender. Trifaccia was getting hit often by Black Jack but was only able to hit Black Jack one more time before he fell to the ground. As soon as Trifaccia was defeated Vencarlo started the cant Black Jack which the crowd took up this cause the thug to run away in fear they were next to be killed. Shaleu went to Trifaccia and was able to bind his wounds and tie him up. They took him up to Vendra room above the store for questioning as her sale went on. They were able to find out that Rolth was behind him and paying him to be the new replacement of Black Jack. He did not know why just that he was paid well. He took them to his money which Vencarlo took and with the help of Cressida will try and give the shop keeper so money back to help their business.

They all came back and we talk and decide we would go to the queen bed room tonight. We went to bed to get some rest before going out. But a little after noon a report came to us that Sabina Merrin was flying her black dragon and calling out Black Jack to face her to a duel. She also was claiming that she knew Black Jack was really Vencarlo. We wanted to see if we could turn her to our side and decide this is the time to do that. Andrian wanted us to be in an open area away from the crowds. So, we all went to the open air stadium to meet Sabina Merrin and her dragon. Andrian went as Black Jack and shot a bolt into the air with a explosive potion with a fuse to mark where we are. This worked as the black dragon was coming straight for us. But, instead of flying over and breathing on us Sabina forced the dragon to land. This did not look good with Sabina up on her black dragon and us all around the dragon. We attacked the dragon but did very little to it when she landed. Andrian leaped upon the dragon to do battle with Sabina who was surprised to see Black Jack attacking her and Vencarlo on the ground attacking the dragon. With a little help from missile fire and mostly Andrian, he was able to defeat Sabina tossing her to the ground. She asked us to command her or kill her sense we had defeated her. Andrian ordered her to attack the dragon. She first said order me to do something else but if you order me to attack I will because you have defeated me. I was able to heal her along with Trinia to bring her up to fighting strength again. When Sabina attacked the dragon, the dragon rage was focused on her instead of us. Only a few of us got hit by the acid from the dragon breath but Sabina took a couple of the dragon breath before we were able to take it down. With the dragon attacking only Sabina, Trinia and I were able to continue to heal Sabina to keep her in the fight. With the dragon hurt badly and looking to take flight Cressida gave orders and coordinating the final rush we were able to slain the dragon. Ducw was able to get a couple of big hits which brought the dragon down before it could escape us. Sabina told us her sword belongs to us and she will follow our orders now. So, we left the stadium and return back to our hide out to rest for tonight attack against the queen.

We question Sabina more about the castle and to my surprise she was able to give us more information on the location of the queen. I’m still not sure why she was willing to follow our orders. It looks like she is going to help us get in and to bring down the queen. He will now rest and leave in the middle of the night for the castle.

Leaving Janderhoff Back to Korvosa

Gozran 23rd, 4709 – We sold off everything we did not want and did a quick shopping spree to pick up a few new items. I updated up armor and ritual components and left instruction to make four daggers and the rest in Crossbow bolt to be made from the holy symbol. The rest of the party did the same. I also left a note to say if Rizzle/Riley the Halfing comes to my parents asking for the Halfing chainmail they should give it to him when he present a letter from me with the family seal on it stating that the armor is his.

Off to Korvosa we go after Rizzle cast the phantom steed ritual. We made it to the river but the steed could not cross the river. So, he recast it three times before they would. We did this because we wanted to stay away from people who might report they have seemed us. We made it to Korvosa before sunrise. We came up to Korvosa under cover of darkness to go over the wall on the grave yard side. Cressida used her hippogriff to ferry Rizzle, Trinia and Neolandus over the wall. Andrian went first to tie a rope for the rest of us to climb the wall with. Once he did the rest of us followed with me going last. Andrian then went back up and removed the rope. Once we all were over we headed to the catacombs. I was moving slower then the others trying not to make noise. When all of a sudden a few of the plague zombies surprised me and this little battle alerted the guards on the wall. As I heard them yelling about starting the watch fires I ran as fast as I could and got to the catacombs just as I saw the watch fires begin to blaze. Cressida led us down to where the resistance was hiding out and then we went to place were we freed the prisoners when we were the Night Watch. Cressida told us that the Gray Maidens were searching the grave yard finding a few more plagued zombies. She told us we must lay low for a few days. We had another council meeting with some other concern of Cressida. One was a vigilante call Trifacia who was trying to show the people he is like Black Jack. But Cressida was saying it was a different place but it seemed to be the same thugs he was chasing off. We were also told about a dragon the head of the Gray Maidens has and that she may not be happy and we could possibly talk her to our side. We were told about possible demon creature on one of the floors in the palaces. These were just a few things we needed to decide what we wanted to do next. We rested the rest of the day.

Gozran 24th, 4709 – We talk more since we are just sitting around and we decide to see if we could trap and stop this person called Trifacia. I was able to get in some need alone prayer time for myself.

Gozran 25th, 4709 – We talk to Cressida but she still did not want us to leave just yet. She still felt the graveyard would be watched closely for only one more day. It gave me some time to go over my gear with the new pack that Rizzle made for me.
