Fifth Day at Scarwall

Gozran 16th, 4709 – We talk about finding the shadow dragon next. Andrian wanted me to ask Torag while he went to his cards. I told him Torag hand of fate does not talk to me. It will answer three questions by hand motions. It will not tell me the best way it is all on how I ask the question and where I am when I do. I need to be in Scarwall to ask which direction do we need to go to find the shadow dragon. Andrian ask his cards and they came up big sky and something else referring we need to go through the court yard again. So, we went back inside Scarwall and I cast my ritual for the hand of fate just outside the courtyard. I asked what direction is the shadow dragon from here and it pointed to the courtyard and to the right. We could get to the dragon without going through the courtyard by going upstairs or downstairs but there is another way.

We talk on how we will get through the courtyard I could cast a silence ritual which would cover about half the distance but we could still be seen. If we go up stairs we will have to find the stairs down and we will not know what we would run into. Andrian said he will check it out first and tell us if the gargoyles are there or not. When he went out he noticed they seem they had a feast and was not that interest in him. He went to the first set of double doors and listened and signaled us the dragon was here and we need to attack now. We went out ready for the gargoyles to drop down on us but they did not. Andrian opened the door and moved in surprising the dragon and knocking him out. We all were able to get into the room with the shadow dragon with most of us surrounding it and attacking it all at once. This woke up the dragon and he summons a room full of skeletons so we could not move. Everyone but me took their next attack on the dragon and we almost took it out. I destroyed most of the undead and was able to move closer to the dragon. The dragon then breathed on Rizzle, Trinia and myself. On our next set of attacks with Andrian jumping on to the dragon back gave me the chance to get the killing blow on the dragon which I was able to do. It now seemed like all we had to do was kill the rest of the skeletons which the dragon called at the beginning for aid. As we were finishing the skeletons we saw the final anchor coming across the courtyard. I called up my knights of valor to help protect Trinia and to block another entrance into this room. I was glad I did because the other anchor called up and filled the room with skeletons again. Rizzle was blocking the door with skeletons attacking him from the front and back. Rizzle was able to clear the court yard of most of the skeletons and push the anchor back a bit. But more skeletons entered the court yard right after he did that. Ducw and Legion were destroying most of the skeletons in the room. Rizzle and Krojun held the doors and I save Trinia from one skeleton what was caught behind my knights with Trinia. It took a few rounds for us to clear out the skeletons for us to even move around just as the final anchor force Rizzle to retreat and entered the room. He caused fire all around him hurting Andrian, Krojun, Loari, Rizzle and myself in the blast. We were able to take two of his fire blast before retreating leaving Krojun all alone fighting the anchor. I healed Loari with my cure serious wounds and started to move my knights up to take my place. Rizzle was able to force him out the door and close the door on him. This bought us some time for me to get my knights up to block the door way so he could not enter. The anchor attacked the knights with no success and we were doing nothing to him. After a few rounds of this stand off. Andrian decided to sneak around to see if he could attack him in the court yard just as the anchor was going to see if he could enter the room another way. By now all that was left was the anchor. Andrian move and the anchor moving was the move that turn the tide back to our side. Andrian was able to hide and attack him from behind causing him serous damage. The anchor was not able to do his fire attack again and in the next couple of rounds with Andrian hiding and attacking from the shadow he was able to kill the anchor with some assistance from the rest of us.

We rested first because we used almost all our abilities in this long battle. We have now defeated the four anchors. We search the room finding a few items of interest. With many coins and gems on the floor we spent a few hours picking them up into piles which would give my father time to empty the chest from yesterday find. After a few hours I then summon the chest and we put in 7,030 gp, 18,445sp, 39,800cp, huge pile of gems, weapons, armor, etc and I sent the chest back to my father taking out the food for the day for us. We then left scarwall to rest up before we take on the chain that held the four anchors.

It finally happen Ducw and Loari could not leave Scarwall the rest of us could. We talked if we should go back in or spend the night on this end of the bridge. After several minutes of talking we decided to go back in and hold up on the third floor of Scar Wall. We were able to work our way back up to the third floor of Scar Wall to rest up in Kavazon’s bedroom. A few hours into our test we were attacked by two boneclaw undead. Just as I was getting up I saw Dacw tell one of the undead to leave and it did. Later in the battle he summoned skeletons like an anchor so it was true. Why Dacw and Laori could not leave was they are the new anchors of Scarwall. We were able to destroy the boneclaw with very little trouble and I healed Dacw and Krojun after the battle.
